Hi everyone,

I've been trying to figure out why would my FPS drops during gaming. I recently installed FRAPs on my PC to figure out why when I play the new MOH it would stutter or freeze every 10minutes to 15 minutes - normally it is between 50 to 100FPS I see the frames drop to single digits down to 1 FPS sometimes that causes it to freeze or stutter for a few seconds.

I game on 1600x1050 with all settings on highest settings and I have the latest Nvidia firmware. I also have MSI afterburner on to keep my card cool under 70C. I have wired ethernet connection and my internet connection is stable.

I never experienced this issue when I had a PNY GTX 470...

Any clue to what is causing this? Thanks in Advance.

It is likely something other than your Video card. Probably something running in the background that intermittently has a spike of activity.

Maybe the PNY played nice with your PSU but this EVGA one is not playing nice with your PSU.

Test another card on that machine and take it from there. I smell a RMA to EVGA coming. gl and gb

just a shot in the dark, but auto save?

No its not auto saved... I play multiplayer online

I do notice that when I exit out of the games and look at the charts on MSI Afterburner - the card is maxed out at
Memory Clock - 1701MHz
Shader Clock -1250MHz
Core Clock - 625MHz
which is all the EVGA Factory Super Clocked settings...

Is it normal and are all those features supposed to maxed out while gaming?

Are you running something that is monitoring your core clocks while gaming? Your card could be randomly switching to 2D mode, which downclocks everything.
