EVGA Precision causes hitching

from time to time I would notice a little stutter or hitch when walking in basically any game I play. well today I had been testing vram usage in many games and finally figured out it that it is EVGA Precision that causes this. all those times before when I had hitching, I never realized it was only occurring while Precision was on at the time.

I can alt tab out of the game and turn Precision on and then get the little hitches or turn it off and they disappear so there is no doubt it is the cause. it doesn't appear to be using more than 1% of the cpu and even in games where cpu usage is not even very high it happens. I know this has occurred for probably 2 years or so and I wonder why it has never been fixed.

Does precision monitor things like FPS and GPU load and use a graph style custom fan profile ? Also does it allow you to set the rate that it polls your hardware at ?

I know on some systems those settings can cause hitching using Afterburner.

yeah it monitors gpu usage, vram usage, fan speed, temps and gpu frequencies. its no big deal just to leave it off, which I normally do anyway, but it seems crazy that it interferes with the games. Crysis hitches noticeably but not as bad as The Saboteur which is very sluggish when it hitches. most other games just have a little hitch that will occur at consistent intervals when walking around.

Try tweaking the polling times so the software pulls all that information every 10-30 seconds instead of 1 second or whatever setting it is left on default.
