EVGA OC tool seen in action

We've had a privilege to see and try EVGA overclocking tool. As far as we know, we are just days from its official launch and we managed to play with an actual 1.0 version.

The tool can change core and Shader clock synchronous or asynchronous and you can set the fan speed manually or automatic.

The cool offers on screen display support that will even work in games and benchmarks, and it will show frame rates, clocks and temperature in your games. A cool thing don?t you think?

The tool supports Logitech Keyboard LCD and up to four GPU's can be temperature monitored.

Information button shows device, driver, memory size, bios revision and if SLI mode is enabled or disabled. Enough said this is how it looks in default colour and violet.

It's probably not... It is however most likely supported by EVGA and sanctioned by NVIDIA, and I'm pretty sure that you won't run into a situation where you buy a new card and you have to edit a config file to get your new card to work. Personally, I like RivaTuner, so I'll probably stick with it. I wonder if EVGA's tool will have a 'phone home' feature on it that reports back to EVGA how high customers are overclocking their cards.

Looks hideous, like nearly every other manufacturer-based utility/tool is.

I don't know why, but they're always so ugly.

It looks like a simpler interface over that of Rivatuner.....thats about it.

I like eVga's Precision over Rivatuner because everything I use Rivatuner for is right there and I don't have to click 5 million things to find it.

I think that was weird how they said it wasn't officially launched it has been up on there site all day. Link

Yeah I think if I still had my 8800 I'd be using this over Rivatuner for sure, as slick2500 said you don't have to click a million things to OC, monitor temps and frequency....its all there. Good on EVGA.

Yeah check out the OSD server, it is the one from rivatuner!

I have it. Had it for 2 days. Just search for EVGA Precision on Google.

It does not beat RivaTuner, but it is more user-friendly for the new overclocker.
I still prefer Rivatuner

Because they did? There was a blurb about it on Guru3D when they announced the EVGA tool. It's a simplified version of RT with a different skin. It should get a signed driver which is nice for those that keep Vista UAC enabled. NV should just license RT officially but I think they like having plausible deniability with a 3rd party tool. Still, it'd be hard to say NV products would be as attractive or functional without programs like RT and nHancer.

Beats me. v2.09 working fine with V64.

Older versions may not play so nice?

I like the on screen overlay which shows your information while playing a game including temps and fps.

Maybe it's just me but I think little apps and utilities should be designed to look like native Windows apps - maybe something like a Control Panel app. No fancy skins and interfaces - Gigabyte really takes the cake for this (in terms of suckage) for their EasyTune application.

It's something open source/freeware developers get very well but commercial vendors refuse to understand.

So does your card have to be EVGA? PeeZee, it looks like you have a BFG... Any reason I can't use this when my non-EVGA 8800GTS comes in later today? I can download it because I have a userid there from other EVGA cards.
