which one is betteR? I am having a lot of problems with the ATI and getting it to work with my HDTV. I've talked to some people who had have the same problems and they said it all ended when they switched to Nvidia.
A 350W PSU should be able to handle a 7900GS, as long as you don't have a TON of extras (HDDs, case lighting, dozens of fans, etc.)
The 7900GS is a bit slower than the X1900XT or X1950Pro from what I remember, but you may also be able to find it cheaper. Your other options are a 7900GT, 7900GTO (if you can find one), or 7950GT. The 7900GS should outperform the X800 series no problem though.
The GS can overlclock like crazy, you'll have the potential to get +100mhz core for 600mhz. Once overclocked, it beats the 1950pro. As for that PSU, make sure it has a pci-e power connector.
If you're willing to spend $160 on a PSU (good to see - many people won't go over $50...), go with the Corsair HX620w. Every review I've seen has made it out to be excellent.
I believe Corsair even showed it running 8800GTX's in SLI.
