eVGA nForce 780i

Hi,
I was looking into buying a combo with the eVGA nForce 780i motherboard along with a Q6600 CPU. I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with the board, in particular the chipset cooler/fan on it? Some reviews say it is too loud, others say you can adjust the speed so you don't hear it, and still others say you can remove it completely with no negative impact.

Any thoughts? I might be overclocking, but nothing pushing the limits, maybe from 2.4 to 3.0 or so.

EDIT: Ended up getting an Asus P5K-E for a good price ($80 USD) so I guess the point is moot. Still curious to know though.
