I currently have a 939 X2 3800+ . Can I put in any X2 , FX, or 939-pin processors?

thanks.

yes, but it'll be cheaper to replace the mobo, chip, and ram than upgr the 939 (unless u r luckier then me at finding a 939 cheap)...

i am in the same boat with a couple 3800's... i stuck a vendetta2 on one and got it to go 200mhz higher (2.8) but my other won't go past 2.5... it's just not worth it to upgr the chip, since a fry's $120 intel combo will spank any 939 rig...

I agree. You can only upgrade to an Athlon 64 X2 4800+ (2x2.4GHz). So, go with an AM2+ mobo. What socket does the Phenom use? Anyone? Thank you.:)

Phenom uses socket AM2+ which is 940 pins that enables DDR2 support over 939. (That's what I think)
