Since when did they start including a damn 8pin connector on the motherboard? How new is this? wtfmate?

since the Core2Duo and Extremes came out. It is not new. You can use a 4-pin but it might not draw enough power.

Core 2 Extremes... basically the top end model core 2, with an unlocked multiplier

at the moment they are:

Dual Core : X6800
Quad Core: QX6700

well i got a +4200 X2 so thats why i was confused... maybe just this board is requiring it

the eVGA 680i is a Skt 775. I don't believe they make any AMD sockets...
