Well you have to be a member of eVGA (just register). On their member pages they are selling copper heatsink replacements for the 6800 GT and Ultra core. This covers just the core, no the memory - that stays aluminum. Price is 9.99 plus a rotten 8 something for shipping. The good thing about it is that eVGA will still honor the lifetime warranty with the copper heatsink in place.
I suppose if you have a reference style 6800 GT and ultra it would work for any brand. A moderator posted his temp drops on a 6800GT overclocked. Idle was roughly 3-4 degrees°C and load was 12-14°C lower.
Im going to give it a try just to see how it works. Then when my waterblock arrives from SNT im going to watercool the entire rig. Lol
