Finally...the folks on the EVGA boards have been bitching for months about the delay.

They should have just skipped the P67 launch entirely and come out with their Z68 board.

My thought exactly.... Hopefully it won't be long for the real high end Z68 boards to cone out (i.e. ones that have enough PCI-E slots (via a bridge chip) and have dual ethernet with teaming and hardware offload engines....

Ever since Shamino was gone (went to Asus) EVGA is under the weather the whole time. Shamino was like the life force in EVGA when he was still there. Now, Asus is breathing this life force and they are doing great.

Kinda strange and interesting at the same time. Not much info on it as far as size or if it's bootable. It could come in handy for virus, malware removal, windows repair, etc.

Evga does make some nice motherboards which do seem to have alot of bells and whisltles. But just like all motherboards they most likely won't be perfect for everybody. I'm gonna stick with my P8P67 Pro throughout the S1155 days most likely.

Department of Redundancy Department? Yeah, kind of odd. They could have just included a USB front panel device for a drive bay. Heck, include USB 3.0 ports (to headers) as well as a multi-card reader. Why CompactFlash? Maybe because it is easy to adapt to EIDE? Seems to me that SD is more common, and can use adapters for Micro SD/Transflash.

PCIe Disable Jumpers (P67 FTW)
Instantly troubleshoot
Test a multi-card system instantly and water cooling systems without having to disassemble the loop

This one is pretty interesting. I can see how it would be useful. Wonder if they patented it?

Yep :) because it is do odd.

I could see that situation but did not see if it said it was bootable or not. I suppose you could put a livecd of something on there, not sure about a full windows install

True 16x sli on this motherboard?

Unless im behind on the times i thought the lacking part about 1155 was the fact it didn't support sli 16x?

No -- SLI will be two 8X slots on any P67 board; not enough lanes in the chipset.

What is the big deal about the Z68? If I read the features correctly the only thing that it has over the P67 is the ability to overclock the on board GPU, what is so special about that since 99.9% of users don't use on board GPU's....

  1. Virtu allows switching between integrated and discrete GPU. You can use the discrete GPU for programs that need it (games) and the integrated GPU for less demanding tasks (to save energy).
  2. SSD caching gives some of the benefits of SSD without needing to spend big bucks on a large capacity SSD for the system drive.
  3. Quicksync allows very fast video transcoding (though the availability of compatible software is lacking right now).
  4. Overclocking both CPU and integrated GPU. H67 can't overclock the CPU. P67 can't even use the integrated GPU.

Basically, Z68 is what P67 should have been. I already own a Gigabyte P67-UD7, so I'm not in the market for Z68. However, if I was building a new system now, I would probably strongly consider Z68 over P67. It is newer, has more features, and will likely have better support from motherboard manufacturers.

It's still newer technology and BIG BOYS always have new toys with new technology in forefront, not like EVGA who lags behind like right now. Well, unless EVGA jus wants to be SMALL BOY the rest of the way. :whiste:
