What do you guys think about this card for playing BF with it? Does it heat up much or does it make a loud sound? If you have your own suggestions, please tell me. Thanks! :)

This card for $395? Don't see a point since you can get the faster GTX580 for $430.

GTX570 isn't fast enough to game at 2560x1600 where VRAM limitations come into play. Also, I believe the game wants > 1.5GB of Ram at Ultra settings. Save our $ and get the standard version for $290. Even with less VRAM, the 570 outperforms AMD cards with 2GB of VRAM in this game.

If your budget is $400, and you want the best performance in BF3 and don't mind multiple cards, I'd look into getting 2x HD6950 2GB. Dirt 3 Edition by Sapphire is known to unlock into a full fledged HD6970.

AMD is also aiming to launch a brand new 28nm generation of cards in 2-3 months. So to start with, I don't particularly recommend spending $400 on a GPU setup right now.

First of all, thanks for the quick reply. For second, my budget is about 370euros and in Finland those Dirt Edition cards do cost 269 euros per card :(, but i have been playing the last three years with a Radeon HD4890 and would like to try Nvidia this time so i think i will be getting a GTX570 with a DC II cooler. Is that an okay card to go with?

For what it's worth, if I were getting a 570 I would get this one (Which I believe is the one you are referring to, but just wanted to be clear), or this one depending on pricing and which AIB gives better service in Finland.

Hmm... This is hard deciding which one to get. :) The Twin Frozr one is cheaper and is overclocked, but the DC II cooler is better than Twin Frozr? I Guess that the Twin Frozr one is also a bit smaller which would be better because i dont have plenty of room in my Antec P182b case.

OP are you upgrading your monitor aswell because you don't mention anything and I highly doubt you are gaming at 2560 x 1600 on your existing HD4890. If you are gaming at 1920 x 1080 or below then paying extra for a card with 2.5gb VRAM is a complete waste of your money.

The DCII cooler is bigger, but the TFIII is an excellent cooler, too. I can't lay my hands on a comparison review at the moment, but I don't think the DCII runs any cooler or quieter.

Sorry, i didn't notice your answer. Yeah my monitor is BenQ G2400WD which has a resolution of 1920x1200 so thats what i will be gaming with.

The 2.5GB 570 is probably one of the worst buys out there in terms of video cards. $400 is an epic ripoff for that card.

A stock 570 GTX is more than enough to play BF3. IMO it's not worth paying the premium for the 580 unless you have cash to burn or have at extremely high resolutions. I have a 570 and play at 1920X1200 maxed with no problems. I do have a 2600K so I'm sure that helps me but the GPU is still fast enough.

The Asus is very quiet at load. That's the one I'd go with and overclock it myself.

Well i'll go with the Asus then, because i can get it for 300e, one thing that concerns me is that will a 650W PSU be enough or not, if not then i will have to save up some more.

As long as it's a high quality brand: Antec, Seasonic, Corsair, PC Power & Cooling, BeQuiet, Enermax, even OCZ, you'll be fine with a 650W. 12Amp V rail should be about 50-52A or so?

It's Corsair TX650W or something like that. So that will be enough? If yes, then i think i'll order the GTX570 DCII ASAP.

Oh, that PSU is a beast. It's more than enough for any single-GPU card. A core i7 980X @ 4.2ghz system with a GTX570 pushes about 420-430W at load in games. So with a 650W PSU, and a less hot CPU, you have tons of room to spare.

grr, I hate that video because it makes the gtx570 look awful when that is not the case. in that other thread you posted this video in I have posted my video showing how a gtx570 really handles that bench. now when I ran those settings with the physx being done on my cpu and I could recreate the sluggish dips he had so it makes me wonder if that was his issue.
