Hey. My Evga 770 ACX is hitting 79C in FAR CRY 3. And 80C in Crysis 3 and Metro LL. Is this normal or too hot? I guess i should get lower temps with that fan. Try to RMA that card?

My case is:

But...

I have 76C in Battlefield 3 and BF4. On Unigine Heaven 4.0 75C max , on Valley 79C.

Only Crysis 3 and Metro i get 81C. Is this not too much for ACX cooling?

Turn the fan up if it makes you feel better. The GPU isn't being harmed by those temperatures, though. It's not an issue.

ACX cooling, like any open air cooling, depends almost entirely on the case airflow for its results. Your case has very basic cooling capability.

81C is not a problem for the GPU, but it is over the throttle point. You should manually increase the fan speed in EVGA Precision X. Alternatively take your case's side panel off and watch temps drop significantly.

Do not RMA. There is nothing wrong with your card.

How many times does this forum need to tell you 80C is fine? Or go ahead and RMA another perfectly good card, you aren't going to listen to us anyways.

Basic ? You mean bad?

It has one 120mm intake fan and one 120mm exhaust fan. And the hard drive cage blocks much of the intake airflow, which isn't lined up with the video card in any event.

If you want lower temps in that case, you'll want to add at least a second 120mm fan, above the stock fan, plus a top-mounted 120mm fan to exhaust all the heat being expelled by the GTX 770 directly into the CPU area.
