evga gtx 670 ftw

I have a 7950 msi twin frozr 3 right now and it's giving me artifacting problems like crazy. I also mentioned in a previous thread that I'm getting stuttering issues ingame and on desktop as well. Not sure if the stuttering is connected to the gpu. By stuttering I mean http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ocKfYNV-xHo&feature=BFa&list=HL1353531830

That sucks.

You may be in for a nasty surprise even if you do go NV if it's not the GPU. I'd suggest you try find an NV card to borrow and see if it helps.

I guess you've already tried down-clocking to stock if you are overclocked on the cpu etc.

While that could be gpu, I would not treat that as my first point. GPU failures tend to be rather dramatic.. broken textures and tearing. Stuttering like that usually points to something else, either CPU, RAM, or potentially hard drive. Are all these parts new?

And very easy to isolate GPU... install a different card, or take your card and put it in another computer. Will quickly tell you if it's the card or not.

Everything is new. I ran memtest, intel burn test, superpi, prime95, and no errors so I'm almost positive that they aren't messed up. will be taking out my graphics card to see what it could be.

I'm also looking at the 670 ftw.....hopefully the 4gig version will come down in price on Black Friday.....probably won't though. Here is the one I like. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130824

Over at the Hard Forums site the 670 and 680s are liked more than the 7950s or 7970 cards. This sites users tend to favor AMDs chips.

I've used both but probably will go with Nvidia this time around even though the price is higher.

I got a couple of them and love them like a crazy fanboy should. Perfect in every way. The best part is opening the box and smelling that fresh electronics smell. I run my nose right along the edge of the card and just take it all in.

Well, I am so very frustrated and confused on whether or not to get EVGA GTX 670 FTW edition http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130787
which comes with borderlands 2 and acreed3, or just replacing my msi twin frozr 3. So many reviews say that nvidia provides a better gameplay experience, and amd provides a better benchmarking. I'd totally opt for the gameplay experience as fps doesn't matter above 60 to me, but stability and being able to handle crapload of stuff in games does.

I chose 670FTW 2GB back before AMD dropped prices bigtime on 7950/7970 (along with improved drivers). If choosing today, it'd be a much more difficult choice. Still, this card has been utterly flawless to me.

670FTW (and other 680PCB variants) are an easy choice over 670PCB cards imho. You get ~680 stock performance for less $ than 680, and they're usually not much more than vanilla 670s unless you go for 4GB. 660ti is a harder sell in my mind, with prices not too far off from the significantly beefier 7950s out these days.
