You can get a regular-flavored EVGA GTX285 at TigerDirect now for $380 - 20 rebate and 38 MSCB (go through live.com to search for "gps," then get 10% back at TD). Shipping is 2.99. A few bucks more than the XFX deal that only lasted a few hours yesterday; but this one is still available. Plus you get evga's unbeatable warranty/service. I know ATI fans can get a 4870x2 for not much more, but personally I'd rather not deal with the heat/noise and microstutter. GTX285 is THE fastest single-GPU cards out there right now. Unless you play at 2560x1600, dual-gpu is not going to improve your gaming experience much.

How faster the 285 vs the 280?
Any link to review would be very helpful.
I'm on the fence for the upgrade from my 260.

GTX 285 Review <10% performance increase.

videopho.....PM me if you want to trade 260 > 280 🙂

GTX 285 is essentially an overclocked 280 with a 55 nm core; it is about 10% faster than a stock 280. You can overclock a 280 to match a stock 285, but 285 overclocks even higher, at least the memory does (many reviews report memory speed >>2800). GTX 285 also has TDP of 183 w, vs 280's 236 w. It's not worthwhile an upgrade if you already have a 280. What nvidia has done is to increase the performance gap between 285 and 260-216, vs 280 and 260-192.
