i was gonna go for a 5850 but then was like wait i can sell my 8800GTX for XX amount and for $150-$160 you cant beat that price at all 😀

i would be gaming at 1920x1080 so i think it would be ok. i will pick up a 5850 after the price's some. around the $250 mark. the games i will be playing are COH:OF/SC2/Cnc3/Wow/Fall out all of them and few other's so i think it will meet my needs for now

You will max em....Good luck

Yea grab that GTX 285 2GB. I had a couple 1GB versions that are long gone (sold), but I'd have held on to 2GB versions.. damn nice price.

i just cant find a review on it, wish i could, how far can you overclock with this card and using evga voltage control

No reviews needed, it's a GTX 285 with 2GB. Don't stress over what people say about not needing 2GB, or any lack of reviews for this card. Just know you'll be able to run the games you mentioned very well with plenty of AA/AF. It's a great card, I'll buy it if you don't want it. 😉

And don't use the voltage control software. It's not worth it. Just use EVGA's Precision and clock the card to Superclock speeds: 675 GPU, 1548 shader, 2538 memory. Shader is very sensitive to overclocking above 1548. Do superclock settings and call it a day..

ah thank you think i could get 700 core/shader 1531/memory 2550 ? or would it run to hot?

I just like to get every bit of extra performace out of a card 😀

and yeah i might sell it to you for cheap if i get a 5850 after a few months i have always had Intel/nvidia

But i am going try Amd / Nvidia and or Amd/Ati

You may be able to do 700 core without a voltage bump but there's so little real world difference between 675 and 700. Certainly up to the user though. Enjoy..

Eh, GTX285 2GB is not that useful; the GPU doesn't really have the horsepower to run settings that require 2GB. Still, as you said, you can always sell it for a 5850 when the times comes. Anywho, good luck clocking it 🙂.

Math, FTW!

i try to have good math 😛 but for the price you cant beat it. i saw people selling gtx275's for $285 and 280's for $230 and what not so i got a awesome deal.

because i can sell it when i feel i need to

Now i need to find a Q6600/Q9400/Q9450 or just use my oc/ed E6420 @ 3.2 wait until the new amd 6 core's and 890 asus mobo's come out
