Is that third link supposed to open in the browser? Firefox 4 prompts me to download it, as a ".phtml" file.

VirtualLarry - It's a PDF it should load in the browser, if you have acrobat reader.

The 240GT 512MB is a great card for the price. Very similar in performance to an 8800GT while using very little power under load and one of the lowest power consuming cards at idle.

The 1GB variant is a waste since you will run into GPU performance issues before running out of 512MB of memory.

Yep, I went with the 512MB GDDR5 card for my HTPC. No complaints at all, and it turned my HTPC into a light gaming/emulation rig on the cheap.

Not to nitpick, but the hardware spec and performance of this card is a hair under a 9600GT, which is quite a bit under a 9800GT (which is exactly an 8800GT).

Still a hot deal, by far the best performance you can get for $29. The 1G version for $59 is somewhat warm as well but agreed re: it being a waste on a low end card with no ability to SLI.

Tom's Hardware ranks the GT240 DDR5 as equivalent to an 8800GTS 640MB in their hierarchy chart. The 8800GTS is available used from Amazon at $100 or on Ebay for $45 to $85. The $29.99 GT240 from Micro Center comes with a two year Mfg warranty.

A quick internet search shows EVGA to be as good or better than some regarding MIRs.

Anandtech and others have reviewed the board. I think it is safe to say $29.99 is a good value for an onboard graphics upgrade or low power single board system.

Whoops, I guess I meant the 8800GTS as Roads pointed out :) Still an incredible value. Anandtech didn't like the card when priced at $100 because it was too much. For $30, it's really nice.

The 512MB card is a great deal at 30 bucks. It's unfortunate that these can't be SLI'ed, but it should come as no surprise because, like the 9600GSO 768MB before it, a pair of them would outperform a far more expensive single-GPU card.
