eVGA Geforce2 MX 400 Slow or is it Just me.

Hi all I just bought this Geforce2 MX 400 64MB/128Bit thinking it would beat me Radeon VE 32MB/DDR hands down. But it doesn't. Benched my VE in 3D Mark 2001 and got a 2000 poin score. But with the Geforce MX I'm only getting 2350. Plus when I over clock the memory I get worse scores! I', using the .90 Detonator drivers. AGP is at 4x, Fast Writes Enabled, Sideband Enabled. So I guess my question is 2350 a bad score in 3D Mark 2001 for this card.

My System:
Epox 8kta3
Athlon 1gig
256MB Ram
eVGA Geforce2 MX 400 .90 Drivers
Windows 98
4-in-1 4.32

Thanks

2350 sounds about right for the MX400. You have to remember that's it's just a plain vanilla MX with 32 extra megs of memory and a higher core speed, which is pretty useless since the MX is memory bandwidth limited (meaning even if you triple the core speed of your MX 400, you're still only going to be as fast as your memory).

Its just on 3D Mark 2001 compaire section people have upto 3500 marks. So I just think my card was going slow.

Maybe u should spend little more money for better card if u expect better result.I feel that's enough for a MX.

Also, try playing a different game. I found 3dMark2001 kinda boring since you never actually do anything.

That's where you can make a real decision.
