It's cheap, but you can get a GT240 for like $20-30 more AR which is substantially more powerful. I just don't see the reason for the 210 lol, but hopefully someone likes the poor little guy.

I wish GT220's would go on sale.

A GT210 is too weak- it can't do advanced de-interlacing.

But a GT240 is too powerful for a HTPC- I don't want ANY extra heat for performance I will never use.

Meanwhile GT220 cards (the perfect balance) go for up to $30 more than GT240 cards. Its nuts.

Would a GT210 be able to handle 720/1080p .mkv files ?

Yes a GT210 is plenty for 1080p mkv files or straight Blu Ray rips. It just has problems with interlaced content.
