eVGA GeForce 6800GT temps

I have been idling around 80C and under load I get to 112C!

I have checked this using the coolbits temperature monitors from NVIDIA as well as temperature sensors in Everest.

My CPU also sits at around 60C!

My motherboard, however, is at a cool 25-30C....wtf.

Also, I have to 80mm case intake fans on the front at the bottom and 2 exhaust fans at the rear top!!

Here is my setup:
Athlon FX-53 p940
1GB OCZ RAM
GeForce 6800GT
Enermax PSU 350W

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
Mike

those temps are too high, both for CPU and GPU. your CPU temps could be the result from the hot air coming from your GPU. check your heatsinks and make sure that they are clean, dust free, and are seated properly. since your 6800GT is eVGA you can mount a aftermarket cooler without voiding the warranty.

Yeah, those temps are out of control. Do you have proper ventilation in the case? Is there an intake fan, and an exhaust fan?

Critical limit for 6800GT's was 120, you my friend are getting way to close to that. Idling at about 60*C is a bit high, and loading into the 80's and 90's is a bit high. You need to do something about this STAT.

Get a can of air and let us know how much dust you blow out of that thing.

Yes I have two intakes and two exhausts.

I am going to take off the video card tonight and clean it out and install the new cooler.

Also, I have some AS5 that I use for my CPU, should I use this instead of the included silicon thermal grease that Arctic Cooling provides for their NV5 Silencer? I just bought one.

yes..i have a 78/7900GT both using NV5 silencers and AS5...remember a little amount is all you need.
