Searched and didn't see posted yet. Looks like you can get around 6600GT performance for around $106 plus shipping after the mir.

Since it is PCI Express, it may use the newer 6800 chip and thus not unlockable to 16x pipes. If it uses the newer 12x pipe chip, it may be possible to unlock to 12x pipes?? But I, of course, don't know :)

Link to the deal.

It is a good deal, I think that more people (especially on this tech site) are starting to look towards the next tier of cards though (6800GS/X800 series). If I hadn't bought my 6600GT for $99 on Black Friday I would have been interested.

we cant compare the performance just yet since we haven't found out the true potential of this card yet. If it is faster than the 6600GT, then it is hot

Well probably stock for stock in Non-AA/AF gaming the 6600GT would be better.

With AA/AF games, the higher memory bandwidth of the 6800xt should win out.

I have a regular 6800NU with regular DDR1 memory rated at 2.2ns and I can get it to 920mhz, so I don't see how just having DDR1 memory would kill this deal??

The core on this should at least do 380mhz or so and the memory 870mhz or even more. Depending on if it comes with similar 2.2ns like my NU has.

In any case, if this unlocks to 12x or 16x pipes, and you get some decent memory oc, it will definitely be faster than a 6600gt in everything by a nice margin.

Nvidia is discontinuing its 6800 series, you won't get much support after they do that. instead the 6600GT has more cooling solutions and user support.

Link? They just released the very popular 6800GS, tanking the entire line is a bit hard to believe.

thats laughable.

you don't call nv for support, you'd call evga, who happens to offer some of the best support in the industry.

i might actually jump on this. i need a good cheapie card.

It looks like the rebate expired the 31st, so I went ahead and edited the title.

Anyone know if these are unlockable? My brother got one with his new setup. Seems pretty good stock for such a low price card.
