i have a evga geforce 6800 pci vid card. it's not overclocked and is still using the stock fan and sink. starting a few months ago, about 2-3 months after i purchase the card, the fan started to act weird.
the fan would turn on for about 20-30 seconds, then stop spinning for about 5 seconds, then spin again for 20-30 more seconds. this pattern would repeat continously. sometimes if i open the computer and take out the card or something, and put it back, it would be back to normal, but only for a few hours. I checked the temperature and it's about 50C. i don't know if it's temperature related or not because i turned off all of the temp-fan related settings and the temperature only fluctuates about 1C, between 49 and 50. The rest of my case is about 32C.
does anyone know why this might be happening or how to stop it?
