hot, but I'd go with a 6800 XT for around that price if you want to play games at higher rez, it will soon be available for around $100

Dear NeezyDeezy

I may be confused but I am somewhat interested a inexpensive PCI - e card and have been looking at the MSI NX6200TC-TD64ESLF Geforce 6200TC for 37 dollars at Newegg and this new card listed by the OP - the eVGA e-Geforce 7300 GS PCI Express for 80 dollars

And I looked up the card you recommend - the 6800 xt - but the best price I can find is $132 plus shipping which is quite a bit more than 80 dollars

Am I missing something?

Can anyone tell me if there is a substantial difference between this new card the Geforce 7300 and the MSI NX6200TC-TD64ESLF Geforce 6200TC. I don't do gaming and will be putting it in the Compaq 1710NX many of us purchased - just something to upgrade the video and stop the sharing of memory with the built in ATI Vid

Thanks

First of all, dont get any card with TC or Hypermemory unless you are only willing to pay for the bottom of the barrel. Even then you are probably better off getting a slightly older card with onboard memory.

Secondly, this could be hot from an HTPC perspective depending on the decoding performance after NVidias upcoming driver update, if it is a decent performer than it will be HTPC king, as im sure it runs very cool as it is both 90nm and a 7 series.
