Hey does anyone have any of the EVGA icx tech cards? If so do you think its better to get the cards with the extra sensors or does it not really make a difference?(esp if you don't overclock the gpu)
The FTW3 icx does allow bi speed on the fans tho.. meaning, it will ramp each fan individually instead of together, as needed.
But if you dont watercool / overclock your cards, the extra sensors are just moot.
Most likely you wont even pay attention to them outside the basic core temp.
Thanks aigomorla. The new Evga 2080 i was looking at has 2 flavors if you will. XC (smaller heat sink 2 slot) and XC Ultra (larger heat sink 2.7 slot) Was wondering if the step up with the extra sensors were better. Im guessing the size of the heat sink wont matter if you dont really over clock.
I dont know how hot the 2080's run.
Honestly, i would probably wait for launch on the cards before getting them.
Im sure a lot of reputable sources will have there hands on it, like gamers nexus.
But looking at the sensor wise, i dont think it will bring you any improvement.
The extra heat sink may allow the card to run cooler, and quieter tho, if noise is such a thing.
