EVGA card not fitting into my case

Hello,

I recenty bought a new mainboard, processor, Cooler, ram and Graphics card. I did not want to replace my case and PSU because both are in good shape.

Here is my configuration:
Cooler Thermalright HR-02 Macho [ HR-02 Macho ]
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LP Rev. A 8GB DDR3 1600MHz CL9 Dual Channel Kit
Main Board: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 [ Z77 EXTREME4 ]
Processor: Intel Core i7 3770K 3.5 GHz box [ BX80637I73770K ]
Graphics card: EVGA GeForce GTX 670 SuperClocked 2GB DDR5 256-bit [ 02G-P4-2672-KR ]

And my old case and PSU:
PSU Nexus NX-5000 R3 530W
Case Nexus version1 aka Caterpillar [ Version1 (aka Caterpillar) ]

The problem is although i placed everything in correctly when i am trying to put in the GTX670 in the PCI-E 3.0 slots it wont align with the case at the back. I attached a screenshot to show exactly what i am talking about.
I placed in the case and on the new motherboard my old GPU just to make sure i didnt install the motherboard incorrectly.(Sapphire Radeon HD4890 Vapor-X 1GB DDR5 256-bit) and it fit perfectly in the pci-e and in the case and motherboard.

So my question is: Is my case too old for the graphics card and thats why it did not match? Am i doing something wrong? Should i make a cut in my case?

Thank you

Raluca

Usually that means you forgot to take off the metal tab thingy that once installed with a card helps latch the card in place.

Hard to describe but I'm sure someone else knows what I'm talking about.

How far off is the alignment? You know you can move it just a bit to align it and to screw it in place...it won't hurt the card or the mobo... unless the alignment is more than a half a centimeter.

Hello,

I dont have screws i have clip ons. I already moved it a bit unaligned and a bit of the vent is covered by the metal in between the plates.
I think i will modify he case by removing the middle metal .As soon as i get home i will take some photos of the issue.

I don't think i forgot to remove something from a previous card since they all look the same.(i have 2 pci-e ports on my motherboard and no matter on which i set the card i still have to tilt it half a cm to enter the case at the back.

pictures will help.

Normally the back doesn't fit perfectly anyways, it's usually give or take a few millimeters for me.

If you can't modify the case then get a new one. Do not modify the video card as it might not fit well in your future case upgrade and will effect resale value.
