EVGA came through for me

And now someone else will try the same thing and get rejected and post an eVGA hate thread somewhere else.

Maybe, but I did actually buy both cards from Newegg and registered them. Maybe eVGA has no problem with this. I would like to see if someone else can do this as well.

Or maybe they sent him the first GTO by mistake, and when he wrote the followup email about now being able to run the cards in SLI they decided it would be better to go ahead and send him a second GTO than to say "Oops, we screwed up and didn't mean to send you a GTO, please send it back and we'll give you a non-artifacting GT."

That might not be the case, but while I admire what they did in this case it might be an isolated incident. I wouldn't "expect" such service on all RMAs and certainly wouldn't recommend trying to take advantage of them, or else their lenient policies might start to get a bit less lenient which screws everyone.

I agree completely. This is just an example of good customer service in one particular case. While it may or may not happen again, it's still a pretty cool thing they did when they didn't have to.

This isn't really video related, but I had a defective 2GB OCZ Secure Digital card which I RMA'd. Turns out they were all out of the 2GB cards at the OCZ warehouse, so OCZ sent me a 4GB SD card instead, and sent it 2 day mail. All in all I was impressed with OCZ, much like your experience with EVGA

Standard RMA for most companies will replace it with "like or better, new or refurbished." YMMV. I've gotten used stuff back. I've gotten the same item back, but just repaired (a Shuttle SFF). I've gotten new stuff back. I've also gotten an upgrade (Seagate, 200GB => 300GB). It all depends on what they have on hand and how easy it is to repair what you sent back.

rma'ed my leadtek 6600GT agp...should be getting it this month sometime. i hope they update my card to a 7600GS or possibly even a 7600GT AGP!
