I bought a evga special with a nvieda 7800 and mother board. I been told when the machine first boots that the screen should not display the smiley face, The screen is full of them then the computer continues to boot, no error codes are shown and all games seem to work ok,

7800GT and a evga mother board

Any comments out there on this

you mean the evga logo?
their latest bios allows you to disable the logo at the boot, and you can flash it within windows using winflash
