EVGA bios switches?

I keep reading about these bios switches on my EVGA 970gtx FTW. Anyone know what they actually do? Can't find much about them.

Having a switch allows you to overwrite one BIOS and still have the stock BIOS in case anything goes wrong. Modded BIOS are still new for the Maxwell cards, I'd wait until more people test them out and find a good one for the 970.
