Yesterday, I ordered the EVGA 980 Ti # 06G-P4-4998-KR. I will have it tomm (Sunday).

Five days ago my 780 failed, corrupting some Win 7 OS files that could not be repaired. And so, I'm getting Win 10 as well... "The horror, the horror..."

I loved Win 7. But I had to get Win 10 soon anyway, so why put off the agony? J/K of course... I'm sure I'll quickly get used to it. But, I have 10 on my seldom-used laptop, and it's a bit tricky navigating around.

Can I get 10 to look/work more like 7 ?

Someone here put me onto stardock/start10, which looks to give much the same feel as Win7 I imagine... have not had a chance to check it out yet.

To make 10 look and act more like 7 install classic shell and configure it to your liking.

That makes little/no sense. A video card failing should have no bearing on any part of your OS, once you put something else in its place. Windows' driver management isn't that bad.

Also, you do not need a third party program to make win10 behave like win7, just some basic customization of the taskbar/start menu. You can tear out all the tiles, all the notification junk, additional searching, etc. Becomes win7 with some better features.

^^That's pretty much what mine looks like, minus the extra stuff on the right hand side of the menu (personal folders, all personal folders individually titled, default programs, help and support, AND run button? 'This PC' on the start menu, and an explorer quicklaunch? Sloppy.) It's possible that person is actually using a third party program to do some of that (whatever that Start Menu (Windows) thing is) but it's not needed at all. Also that notifications icon can go away if you're just gonna turn it off.
