i can get this card for around $300...is that a good deal? Or should I go for a 8800GT?

Thanks !

Is this a "buddy" deal or is there a store that is offering this price publicly? If it's public, please link. Very interested in a second card for that price!

It's not an EVGA but .....

Personally I hate rebates, but for those than don't, what the hell.

Crap!

As previously stated, if you can get a 8800 gts 512 for roughly 30 more than a gt then the performance price ratio says go for it. Personally, if I could buy the gt before christmas in an overclock model for less than $300 I would have gone the gt route. Being that I panicked and couldn't find a gt in stock for that price and unsure what was going to happen with GTS supply I jumped and bought one. I don't regret the purchase at all but what I'm trying to show with my example was the pricing at the time made my purchase of the gts worthwhile for me. I.E. Newegg selling the EVGA GT SSC for $329 if I'm not mistaken and my preorder cost for GTS was $355.

Plus the gts overclocks like a dream!
