EVGA 8800GTX getto-style cooling idea

in an effort to provide better cooling for an 8800GTX has anybody taken the shroud off the card and zip tied an 80mm case fan to it instead of the stock fan?
anybody got any pics of links to any similar sounding projects?

Certainly a fan of modding for better cooling; but the stock 8800 GTX cooler does a pretty good job on its own. I'd not consider modding it over installing a whole new solution.

Suggestion, if you the need for extra cooling, use EVGA's Precision to bump stock cooler fanspeed to 80%. It's still very quiet at that speed and your temps will drop nicely.. :beer:

Thanks for the reply, but what is EVGA precision? is that some sort of software? I am going to "surf" down to the EVGA website and do a bit of investigating...

I remove the cover of my EVGA8800gts (G80) 640 MB fan cover, tie a 1500RPM 12cm fan on the heatsink.
the result: idel lower 8 degrees, load drop 10 degrees.
fan cost $3.99
result is total surprise, the only problem: hot air used go out the case, now it stay inside the case much longer.
