Evga 8800GTS 320MB Superclock Versus KO ACS3

Evga has the KO ACS3 in stock, I've seen them listed cheaper, but everywhere I've looked they have been out of stock, plus Evga's shipping is to expensive. I live in Hawaii, so it's just over 10% the cost of the card to pay for shipping, talk about crazy.

So I started looking at the Superclock since I found them in stock. I found the Superclock at ZipZoomFly for $274.99

But how much performance would I see with the KO ACS3, over the Superclock? Is it worth buying the KO ACS3, or is the deal at ZipZoomFly better to buy the Superclock?

If the Evga 8800 GTS KO ACS3 320MB is a better card, you can see the performance difference, then does anyone know where I can get a deal on these, I haven't found them anywhere.

I don't think there would be much difference. Maybe a few frames apart. You can just OC it if you'd like.

Just buy a regular 320MB from eVGA, you can OC it using RivaTuner by moving 2 sliders. Its quite easy.

Looking at the eVGA website the KO has a higher clock and it has the ACS3 cooler. Basically you either do one or two things:

1)Buy the Superclock and OC it yourself

2)Buy the KO and dont OC it because its pretty much near max out I believe.

eVGA has these different versions for those that like to OC their own and for those that dont want to deal with OCing but want the OCed performance.

The ACS3 cooler is an improved cooler than the ones found on the regular cards. It cools better and runs quieter. Allows for better OCing basically.

just get the regular 320MB like i did...its overclocked to 625/2000 and its idling at 60-61C.

Just wondering, but how high is that overclock, compared to the stock speeds and the factory OC'ed cards? I don't know the OC'ed cards speeds so its hard to compare.

P.S.: Are you using the stock cooling? How high can you overclock a stock-speed GTS? I'm thinking about getting a 320M GTS for a 1680x1050 screen, but I'm stuck between this and the 640M GTS. I've heard that the 320M can get to higher clock speeds (?), and are $100 cheaper, but of course with less memory... so hard to decide!

Stock GTS: 500Mhz Core
GTS OC/SuperClocked: 575Mhz Core

Personally, I just grabbed the 640MB GTS as I too have a 1680x1050 display. If you want to use AA at that res, the 320MB card is going to start taking a performance hit in some games. It's sort of irrelevant that you can squeeze another 5% out of the core if it takes a 30% performance hit relative to the 640MB version running at the settings that you would actually want to run with such a nice card..
