EVGA 8800GTS 320MB - $114 AR! HOT?!

Nice. My mom's been looking for an upgrade to her 5700 (yeah, it's been a while), but she wants to spend around $100. I emailed her this link. Thanks.
Edit: And her mobo doesn't support the 9xxx series.

Is it the PCI-E Version 1.0 issue? Or some other issue?

Hot deal OP. Same card i'm running in my rig. Very fast, excellent 2 slot cooling solution and quiet.

Anyone had success getting Buy.com to price match NewEgg?

Buy.com has the same card for $284.99 rather than $144.99 (NewEgg). Both places have $30 rebates, yet the Buy.com deal would be better with a price match thanks to the GCO offer they're running.

Open to suggestions, either way this is a great deal ... thanks OP

Why would ANYONE buy this card when the 9600gt is faster and cheaper?
The 8800gs is also cheaper and faster.
I guess for the people who want to sli 8800gts 320mb it's a good deal.

Buy.com isn't going to pricematch newegg.
They'll more than likely pricematch amazon.com though since it's a similar type of store.

...if u already have one 320... and the 320 cooler is quieter and cooler than the gs's...

i know that y'all have good intentions, but this thread is about a good deal on a 320... and it is a good deal on a 320!!! that there may be other deals on other things and/or that y'all believe that something else is better, etc... is nice, but they're not what this thread is about...

But this forum is about helping out other enthusiasts. It's a good deal on the card, no doubt, but that shouldn't stop us from helping people make the wisest choice if we wanted to share our perspective.

Exactly what I was doing. Thank you.

I thought you can SLI different types of video card.

like 8800GS with a 9600GT.

i do not think u can sli between different generations... supposedly u can sli between a 640and a 320 gts (both same chipset), but u get only 320mb of memory use on the 640...

oops... meant 640...

I'm pretty sure that's two different GPU's....one was G80 and one was G92 (320 vs 512). It's my understanding that you could SLI two different cards of the same chipset, such as a G80 8800GTS, even if one had 320MB and the other 640. You do only get an available memory amount equal to your smallest NVRAM, though.

I wish they would make an 8800GS/9600GT with this same double slot style cooler. I loved the efficiency and volume of my old Alpha Dog XFX 320 back in the day.
