I've read many post about the new 8800GTS 512MB is faster than the 8800GT 512MB.

I just bought my Evga 8800GT 512MB SSC last week (because I gave up on Dell for the MSI), and a few days later, the new 8800GTS 512MB appears! Pissed!

Between the Evga 8800GT 512MB SSC and the new 8800 GTS 512MB, how does the two compare?

By looking at the specs:

8800GT 512MB SSC
700Mhz GPU
112 pixel pipelines
2000mhz mem clock speed
64GB/sec mem bandwidth
1728mhz shader clock

8800GTS 512MB
650Mhz GPU
128 pixel pipelines
1940mhz mem clock speed
62.1GB/sec mem bandwidth
1625mhz shader clock

How much did you pay for the 8800GT SSC and how much is the 8800GTS you are looking at? The performance difference is pretty small, so now it comes down to price-to-performance ratio and whether or not the extra price premium for the 8800GTS's slightly upgraded specs and dual slot cooler is worth to you.

No comparison, the 8800gts is faster and has more overclocking headroom. I had the 8800gt and went with the 8800gts.
Also the cooler on the gts is superb.

How high did you manage to overclock your 8800GTS 512?
My 8800GT did 675\1674\975 no problem, so I'm kind of debating if buying this 8800GTS 512 was a stupid move or not.
