......do.....you.....have a point? Your first link says "or when they have become defective while still under warranty." That includes a lifetime-warranty factory overclocked video card that renders artifacts after 4 months. You proved yourself wrong.

You must have a lot of money laying around. $1000 CPU with an unlocked multiplier left at stock speed, $550 video card, $400 of hard drives, $220 motherboard, and you don't believe in RMAs.

I know they run at a different clock speed but I heard that increasing the core clock also increases the shader clocks. Is this not true?? Otherwise why the large increase in performance when overclocking the GTS??

Here's a link (read the 2nd paragraph):

sorry if my previous reply was confusingl; currently when you overclock the core, the stream processors overclock proportionately. you can't do it seperately, but they do overclock.

as an example, as i stated earlier the GTS stream processors run at 1.2Ghz. on mine, rivatuner shows that at my current core speed of 620Mhz, the stream processors are running @ 1.46Ghz.

in the future software, you'll be able to adjust the clockspeed of each individually.
Ok so pretty much it moves up as you overclock the core, correct? I just ordered a GTS 640mb for 380 with free shipping. it also comes with a 30$ rebate from evga :p

well the 640mb "non superclocked" (513mhz/800mhz) i ordered yesterday for $372 arrived a day early (next day deliver when i paid for 2 day service!). the core reached a max clock of 666Mhz where it would start crashing. the memory reached a max speed of 1060mhz (2.12ghz DDR) and was still fine, but i decided not to try any higher, as at these speeds i'm not sure it can make use of any higher clocks with the core speed.

settled on a very stable 650mhz/2ghz, which puts the shader speed at 1512mhz. i must say i'm very impressed with my first evga product. not bad for $342 after MIR :D

That's a sweet price for that card. Congrats. Is it on the green PCB or is it the black PCB yet on the one you got?

it has the green pcb. was kinda hoping for black, but oh well.. can't complain about the performance!

No that performance is great! I was hoping you would say that after I saw how high you were able to clock your memory.

I have a GTX from EVGA's step up program coming and hoping it's going to be the green PCB with the Hynix ram on it as that memory seems to be clocking really well. Your card seems to support that hope.
