Are prices expected to drop much in March with the ATI release, wondering if it's worth waiting or just get this...

You can get this at circuit city for close to $300 after rebate plus tax if you use one if the AAA 10% off at circuit city coupons.

AAA members just go to their site and look for the discount button.

I read somewhere that there will be 2 new cards released by nvidia around the same time as the Ati release. I believe it was 8900 but I can't remember the gt version. I was hoping they'd release something else in the 350.00ish range. Perhaps get a nice jump in performance for same price range.

As to the circuit city deal.. and california tax, 339 is about the best I can do after 10% off and 50.00 mir.. thats at a tax rate for Fresno 7.875% Not terrible.. but I'll wait the month see what happens in the market.

I went ahead and grabbed this deal, thanks op. Going to ebay my 7800GT and see what I can get for it to recoup some of price. Hope to see a pretty significant jump in performance.

Beware EVGA rebates. I'm not going to get into too much more detail, I'm going to allow the Rebate contact at EVGA to correct the problem before I blow this thing up, but in the meantime, I encourage anyone who is looking into buying a GTS to call the number on the rebate form and ask for Sal. Ask him exactly how much the rebate amount is for the GTS. That is all, for now. :)

Edit: Received a reply from the EVGA contact and my problem has been corrected, however, I'm still not sure if the systematic problem has been fixed. I'm not going to smear EVGA over what could've been an isolated incident (though I highly doubt it is isolated) so I'll leave it be with the normal warnings about rebates:

1) Mail it via Certified Mail

2) Make copies of everything you send in.

3) Save the online versions of any .pdfs or html rebate forms/coupons.

4) Bookmark the product and rebate coupon/form url. May want to even take screenshots of advertised price before and after rebate.

5) Follow-up if there's a problem and don't give up if you know you're right.

Translation: They claimed it was for a lower dollar amount than what the rebate form showed?

I'm going through that right now with an eVGA 7600GT from Newegg. Rebate form says $20. Rebate company claims it is for $15. :|

Always make a copy of filled rebate form.
Then threaten them with legal action.
Then pray that they will pay out the exact same amount requested.
Rebate is the scam.
That's why BB is doing less and less rebate.

If you're a subscriber to Newegg's newsletter, they've got a deal on this for $15 less with the code, making it $330 AR (excluding shipping.)
