evga 8600gt SSC

Do you think this EVGA 8600GT SSC would be a good buy for a friend's pc? I am a little worried they might have overclocked it too much making it run hot or unstable. If you are wondering why an 8600gt there is no other choice because they don't have a large enough psu for anything else. Also, they are only a moderate gamer.

I see no reason to recommend against it. Looks like a nice card and EVGA is a great company to deal with. Clock speeds put it between an 8600GT and a 8600GTS.

Another one to consider is the MSI 8600GT OC. A bigger and quieter fan, still nicely overclocked and only $85 after rebate. Also gets great reviews on newegg.
