eVGA 7900GT Signature Series

I'm considering getting the eVGA 7900GT Signature Series. eVGA says the power requirements include a PSU with 20 amps. I'm thinking of getting a Silverstone Zeus PSU 650w. I really can't imagine that this power supply wouldn't be able to handle it. As much as I'd like to get either the PC Power & Cooling 850w or 1kw PSUs (cream of the crop IMO), they just are too much $$$.

On newegg the It lists the following amp chart for the Silverstone:
+3.3V@33A, +5V@24A, +12V1@13A, +12V2@18A, +12V3@16A, +12V4@8A, -12V@0.5A, +5VSB@2.0A.
Is this good enough, I would think that the 20 amp requirement would be in the 12v range on this chart which is obviously under 20 amp, but I could be (and probably am) wrong. Any insight into this matter would be highly appreciated.

I don't have time to give a detailed response here, but PLEASE don't but this part. Read the 7900GT voltmod tutorial on the video forum first page and realize how much extra eVGA is charging you for a pretty box.

That said AFAIK you can just add the 12volt rating of your PS's 12 volt rails. You would then have a total of 55amps available, and be fine. That PS is very high end, and probably a waste for a single card as well, I cannot imagine it not being enough.

Don't buy the 7900GT SS. You might as well just buy the regular 7900GT, heck you can get an X1900XT for around that price. I believe I've seen some X1900's on newegg for $399 AR, and obviously the 7900GT doesn't light a candle to the X1900. You can get the 7900GT, probably the regular eVGA one @ 500/1500 for around $300~, maybe $290~. Do the voltmod and you can probably get that up to GTX speeds (as long as you put on a better cooler, such as the VF900).

There's no reason to pay $399 for something just because it has slightly increased voltage and heavily overclocked.
