Well I was thinking about updating from my x850xt because I'm getting a 2407, and i figured this card was good enough to tide me over til the dx10's come out.. I wanted to get an EVGA 7900GT. I've heard a bunch of the overclocked versions have had lots of problems so I wanted to get a 450-500mhz one.

I was researching and found that EVGA has two of them.. and to me they look both identical. the N583 and N584 versions, does anyone know any indepth details between these two?

Here are the links
N584 (KO) - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130033
N583 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130032

These are suppose to be the versions with out the issues. But either way all I can tell is that to KO has a better HSF as it covers the memory.

Lol my other pc has a x1800 xl from sapphire and it sucks like hell :p i think that ati has great cards, but their drivers... well they just don't do it for me.

i guess ill probably go with the latest revision XD ill check to see if it still has problems (probably gonna get a vf900 with the card anyway), maybe after a month put it on in case it screws up XD

don't give bad advice man.
there's a 300+ replies thread that proves the
x1900xtx is crap it really is
and since both the x1900xt is slower its crap too.

OP the KO is a better cards cuz of the heatsink. since it covers memory too.
don't worry about DOA cards cuz of EVGA's amazing service and support and the awesome warranty even allows overclocking. so your always covered.

I also advise that X1900, but to the above near-troll who said an X1800 is always better than a 7900GT, I strongly disagree. It may be, but then again it may not. It certainly isn't a clear enough choice to not strongly factor in price/what games are being played/brand into the choice.

No, the X1800 isn't necessarily better than the 7900GT. ATi drivers are crap, and what if he wants to run Linux? Even worse drivers.

There both the same price. Get the one with the cooler that covers the memory. (that cooler really should be the stock 7900GT cooler)

If you can shell out $325 for a X1900, go ahead, I would strongly recommend a X1900XT (probably one of the few ATI cards that I actually like)
