EVGA 7900 gtx + NEC FE2111 = Blurry Text

Anyone experience this combination on a CRT. I had to use a DVI to VGA adaptor, changed refresh rates, resolutions, and text still looks a bit blurry and indistinct. Updated to the newest forceware. Could the videocard be bad? Can this CRT not handle this setup? It was working fine in my old machine with the ATI x850xt but I was able to hook up a VGA cord. Just purchased a new ABS machine with a e6600, 2 gig memory. Any ideas I could try?

Yeah, like I said I changed machines. Works fine with the old 3ghz/x850xt but not on my new e6600/7900gtx.

I didn't notice any difference between video cards on a pretty similar CRT. If the DVI adapter is a crappy one though, it could cause something like this. You could try getting something like this instead and see if it helps.

At what resolution? It's the vga/dvi-adapter connection that may be the issue here.
Try a different monitor is what I'd do next before evicting the gtx

OK, thanks for the ideas. Yeah the adapter they supplied doesn't look real hot. The resolutions I'm trying are......everything and along with different refresh rates. Very frustrating. Maybe going from ATI to Nvidia is a possibility but I've gone back and forth in the past and haven't noticed a thing. The games are no problem at all. Looks great. It's pretty cool to be able to crank up Fear (a whole different experience with a fast system) and Oblivion and get fast frames and great graphics (and none of that infamous shimmering). It's just the fricken text that's the problem.
