These BIOS reduce the card down to 1 performance setting - so 2D and 3D are both the same. They also reduce the geometry delta to 0. This should allow you to try them out if you like.

Please remember to always save your old BIOS before flashing a new one, just in case you need to move back to the old BIOS.

But you don't want your 2D setting to be as high as your 3D...

Why dont we want the 2D clock the same as 3D? Ive read that it makes the card run more stable.. I believe evga changed the clocks and removed the delta because they were causing all kinds of corruption, instability and artifacts. do cards other than the evga use different clocks and a delta?

You don't want the 2d as fast as the 3d because for 2d it doesn't need to be as fast and just causes more heat.

My EVGA 6800GT clearly cools down while in 2D, so when did they start keeping the speeds the same? Maybe it didn't start until the 7800's, and if so which ones.... I wouldn't be very comfortable if my card stayed hot all the time.
