EVGA 7800GT Question

I just got my 7800 gt in the mail and will be installing it in my system in a few days. I noticed that on top of the heatsink there appears to be a plastic film that goes across the whole thing. I assume it is safe and recommended to peel this off but i just wanted to check with everyone before doing so. -Rob

Yank it off.
Its just there to prevent the ugly (IMO) Evga logo from getting scratched so it looks its best when you get it.
It will most likely start to peel away anyhow once you start using the card due to heat.

you can greatly lower the temp by unscrewing the 4 or 5 screws that holds the evga plastic
then mounting a 80mm fan pulling air from the heatsink

remember...evga's lifetime warranty covers virtually anything
including ocing and taking off the heatsink

as long as you don't physically damage the card...you're good to go
