Evga 7800 GT performance issue.

I just built a new system. I play BF2 regularly, so it's important that I can run this game at the highest settings possible. After installing everything, including the latest nvidia (not evga) driver/software pack and starting the game, the game says I should run everything at medium, 800x600, AA off...

Does this seem right? Am I missing something here?

System specs:

AMD 64 X2 3800+
Asus A8N5X Mobo
1024 Geil Ram
Evga 7800 GT

I must be missing something... people with lesser system run the game at higher settings, higher resolutions much more stable. I turned everything on high and bumped up to 1024x768 and it ran the game, but it was pretty shaky. I know it's not connectivity, it was find just hours before on my old system.

Well why don't you just ignore what it tells you and run it at the settings you want to..thats what I did, and it runs great.

As I said, I did crank everything up and it runs pretty shakey, definatly some lag.

I was thinking, in the bios are there any setup options related to pci-e that need to be changed, I think I left everything on auto, i dunno, I've read something about synchronization that I'm not really sure about.

Definitely lack of RAM if it stutters badly for like the first five minutes. Believe it or not, BF2 greatly prefers 2 GB of RAM.
