evga 7600gt - my small review - so far.

i ordered this card to tide me over for a while. my previous card was an agp x850xt pe.

i was suprised when the 7600gt booted up source at 1920x1200 everything high and 2xaa and maintained 50-100 fps - avg around 60. Some maps though just pegged at 100fps.

i played around with cod2 a little and it was somewhat of a different story. it runs at 1920x1200 (no aa) but stutters slightly - i'm not sure if this is video related or the lack of the smp patch.

i'm going to try bf2 next and see what happens. but for you guys out there thinking of picking up a 7600gt - it's a good little card and has some strength.

my box:
4800+
2 gig ram
raptor drive
7600 gt card

If you play any Source related games with HDR, though, you won't be able to run at that res. I've got an eVGA 7600GT running on an Opty 144 @ 2.6, and the best I can do in DoD:Source is 1280x960 4x/8x AA/AF max settings on high quality at about ~50-60fps average.

Good card, though. Beats the pants off that 6200 I was running before 😛

hey since you have an x850xt and a 7600gt, how about testing which is faster, me and m buddies are debating this 😛

cool. actually one of my friends has a 76gt and one has an x850xt, i'll see if they feel like testing too

This is pretty interesting...I'm running a 6800GS with an OC'd Opty 144 at 2.4 Ghz....I'm curious as to how the 7600gt runs..

Thanks!!

7600GT is a great card. It's not quite what the 6600GT was in its time, but its fairly close.
