I am so blown away by the performance of this card. I had a Geforce FX 5900xt, and it really is NIGHT AND DAY. I was going to get a x1900xt 256 MB card, but I'm glad I didn't. This thing was only $120 and around $105 bucks after mail in rebate.

I am playing F.E.A.R in 1024x768 with everything maxed out, and it's not lagging at all. I am loving my new Mobo/PSU/Video card setup. It's all working great, and I'm glad I'm running PCI Express.

It does lag a little with Anti Aliasing on 4x, but I turned it down to 2x and it ran great. Quake 4 is staying solid at 60 FPS in 1024x768 max details also.

This will hold me over for a year or so until DX 10 is out, and maybe then some. Here is the deals I got

Albatron K8NF-4x-754 $52.00 with $35.00 mail in rebate

XION 500 Watt Power Real $69.00 $40.00 mail in rebate

EVGA Geforce 7600 GTS $120.00 $15.00 mail in rebate

After seeing how well this card plays F.E.A.R, Quake 4, and Doom 3 all that is left is Oblivion. I think I'm going to go buy it tomorrow.

It feels great to be playing this stuff with no lag at all.

R.I.P Geforce FX 5900xt

Will do!

I am downloading 3dmark06 free edition right now.

I downloaded coolbits, and let it overclock it for me.

It got the core up to 590 and the memory at 770

I am really impressed in how it ran F.E.A.R. I couldnt even play fear before because it was unplayable. This card makes F.E.A.R feel like Quake 2 on my system. AA 4x did cause some minor lag, but in 2x it's flawless.

All the other settings like shadows, and shaders are all on max settings. AA filtering is on 8x also.

One hell of a deal for roughly $100.00!

This card does not even require a PCI-Express power connector even though I bought a PSU that is SLI ready.

This thing is a 7600 GT but shows up as a GS in Windows with the newest Nvidia drivers.

I don't care if it says it's a Geforce 2 as long as it plays everything in 1024x768 for me without lag.

I will bump this thread as I discover more about this product.

I dont want to set you up for disappointment, but Oblivion on high settings makes FEAR feel like the original Wolfenstein 3D. That game is absolutely brutal on the video card.

Kromis, I just overclocked it to run at the same speeds as the BFG OC'd 7600 GT. I am running at the same temps as I was before overclocking! I've been playing Doom 3 in 1024x768 in ULTRA settings with no AA. I am not getting any lag at all. On my FX 5900xt i'd have to turn shadows off or i'd lag to holy hell. This thing is eating through it.

I just formated my system, and got the newest nvidia drivers. I think this thing can OC even more due to me having great airflow, and plenty of fans. I just don't see a need at the moment to go higher! This thing is basically the same thing as that BFG card, I saved $20.00 bucks paying straight up, $125.00 vs $145.00 and I'll be getting my MIR for $15.00 in a month along with my $85.00 worth of MIR I already have.

Zero regrets right now going with this card! Does all I need ! OC'ing very nice

Running at 580/750 right now vs 560/700 stock and after playing 45 minutes of Doom 3 I am running at 56c.

I could take it even higher if I wanted.

Lol he's not kiddin' ya at all.

Oblivion kicked the arse out of my 7600GT KO even @ 1280x1024.

That's great news and all but could you try to crank up the resolution just a bit? I would really like to see if it is stable at 1280*1024....in other games of course, not Oblivion :D

Good stuff. :)

I know exactly why the Brad's so happy, because he's put together a machine for a good price that blitzes his old one.

The satisfaction level when building something that has both value AND performance often surpasses that achieved when just building for performance.

Enjoy!

:D

Exactly!!, this is how I felt when I had my Geforce 4 ti 4200, and Athlon XP 2000+.

I'm impressed with this setup

My mobo came out to around $25.00 with Mail in Rebate and it's pretty good, zero problems

My PSU was $69.99 with $40.00 MIR's and the railings are stable as can be

Video Card was $125.00 With shipping with 15 dollar MIR.

So I'll be out $159.99 on this upgrade, and it's night and day, and playing everything I want perfectly.

Bradtechonline,
I've the eVGA 7600GT PCI-Ex version. Does your GTS fan spins at full speed when Windows is placed in Standby mode? Mine fan runs inaudible if I don't use any 3D app, but kick into full speed at any launch of 3D (which is normal) AND also when Windows is in Standby (does not seem to be normal).

All that matters is that YOU are happy with the purchase.

I personally can't stand 1024x768 gaming, and that card would come to its knees with higher resolutions. But as you said, the price is right. And if it fits YOUR needs, that is the main thing.

same...i would think that a 7600GT/GTS would be able to play at 1280x1024.

if my 6600GT can play 1280x1024 (not high settings of course, but up to par for my tastes)...then im pretty damn sure his card can too.

Yeah, I'm sure it can do 12x10. I should of clarified that by "high resolution" I was referring to 16x12 or higher :D

It can run in 1280x1024 easily in Doom3, Quake 4, and FEAR so far. It also eats UT2K4 alive as did my FX 5900xt.

I've yet to play oblivion but I'm sure it will bring it to it's knees.

I have a factory overclocked 7600GT and while it plays FEAR fine most of the time, if there are a bunch of people on the screen shooting (playing multiplayer) then it gets laggy while my other system with a 7900GT does not as much.

Yo guys, I have been playing Oblivion in 1024x768 Medium for the past hour or so. No lag at all, don't know how to view my frame rate yet but I don't really care. It's enough for me, I get no lag at all inside the sewers or outside, or in the city. No slow downs during battles with 3-4 monsters attacking me.

I have to say, after playing FABLE, Oblivion is real slow battle wise hehe.

It's a beautiful game graphic wise though.

Oblivion is suppose to be "slow", methinks. That's what makes it long-lasting!
