Generally it is advised to read reviews before buying a product.

But no, they are far from "junk" stuff. A Google search returned this:

I thought someone here would be using one. Anyway it came in and got it running seems fine. My PC Power & Cooling unit is pretty old but working fine. I just thought at $54.00 for the EVGA was a good time to replace my older psu. The cables on the EVGA are not of the same quality but it works

Just because they are flat ribbon style cables instead of round sleeved ones doesn't mean they are lower quality. Flat cables are easier to route and hide.

Yeah! Even I heard some decent things about it. Though you must read some reviews before making your purchase!
