Just received new mobo evga 680i, and a 8800gts 640 and installed replacing my DP965LT and 7900gs

Everything went fine the first few times but os's would not load. I really didnt expect them to but I did remove all old drivers and cleaned up both XP and Vista, I really did plan on a complete reinstall of both OSs but I really wanted to see if everything was running correctly.

It posted a few times fine and even went trough a repair install of vista. It worked and I was able to boot into vista-almost. It would blue screen for like .5 seconds then reboot. I thought it was the gfx drivers so I thought I could at least go in and take a peek in XP since it was a really new install and I used driver cleaner pro before removeing old hardware.

Long story short I try to boot into XP and first the mouse didnt work. So I switched it and then the keyboard didnt work and now it stops at reboot saying cannot find keyboard.

Anyone have a simple fix I am not seeing?

I did replace both with working-tested keyboard and mice from other systems.

Dazed and confused.

Well, next time if something likes that happens just boot then click 'DEL' to get in the BIOS. Select 'System default', or 'Fail proof default' and reboot. :) That' should fix that problem. Don't need to go that far (CMOS Clearing) :)

It also depends on how you've got them connected to the mb. The bios must be set to support usb keyboards and mice otherwise connect them via the ps2 ports.
