A friend & I are both having the same issue with our 680i boards. I'm running the latest BIOS, he's running one older.

Both of our systems hang on boot if a flash drive is installed. If you pull the flash drive out they function perfectly, & the drives work fine in Windows Vista x64. This would only be severely annoying except that SuperTalent has those nifty internal header readyboost drives coming out. It would really, really suck to have to open my case every time I wanted to restart my computer. That takes it from annoying to unacceptable.

Boot other device is disabled in the BIOS, it had no effect.

How the heck do I fix this?

Is it actually hanging, or is it trying to boot off of the USB device and failing? I don't see why it should hang unless there is a BIOS bug there somewhere.

It actually hangs, I've let it go 10+ minutes & it never recovers. Pull the drive & hit reset & all is well again.

There is no indication that it is attempting to boot from the flash drive, it just stops.

I had the exact same problem with my a8n-sli deluxe, but interestingly, it only happened with my lexar jump thumbdrive. Other thumbdrives would have no problems with my a8n-sli, then again, the same lexar thumbdrive had no problems booting in other computers. Weird.
