EVGA 680i 1T 2T Problem

Hi!

I was running a stable setup using an E6400 @ 3.52ghz and 1GB or PC2-6400 @ 880mhz using 4-4-4-12 and 1T settings

I upgraded to 2 X 1GB Crucial Ballistix PC2-6400 4-4-4-12 but now I cannot use the 1T setting anymore, not even @ stock speeds.

Windows will not boot, or it will freeze @ some point before the desktop.

@ 2T things work just fine @ 800 or 880mhz!

WTH!

I'm afraid that there isn't much you could do about the situation other than waiting for a new BIOS. You need a magic combination to get 1T working with current BIOS. If you haven't already, try lowering the HT multiplier to X3. It didn't help in my case but some folks claim it does.

Thanks for the response Lopri!

I owe you a few already!

I really regret choosing the Evga 680i board for my brother's PC.

I should have bought him a 975X Asus motherboard such as my own P5WDG2 WS Pro board. (I love my board)
