this has been going on for a while now. During gameplay in World Of Warcraft and Battlefield 2 and lots of other games, the graphics become horrible, spots appear all over the place and stretched out triangle shapes appear all over the screen. sometime to the point when i cant see anything and have to close the game and shut off my computer. It even happens on the Desktop. What is really weird is it does it on all games, on even the lowest settings and it happens right when i start up my computer, so i know its not an overheating issue. And sometimes when im lucky itll just go away for a while. Ive downloaded the lates drivers and everything, my computer is being cooled correctly and i have not even thought about overclocking this baby. What the crap could it be?

What are your temps, I know you said you are cooling it correctly but heatsink could be offset or something else like that, so I just need to know what your temps are.

I had terrible wavering and pixelation (even in bios) with my BFG6800GT so I rma-ed it and got another one. That one did the same thing. RMA-ed that one and got an eVGA6800gt. Worked like a charm.

A few of us had the same problems. BFG told me they had no idea what was going on, but they told someone else that the 6800GTs (and only the GTs) had somekind of power issue that only shows when a number of conditions are met. Almost everyone with this problem was running an LCD.

Your problem sounds close enough to what ours ways to mention it. As far as I know the Ultras were immune, but hey.

Have you tried calling BFG?

It is not a driver issue, unfortunately it's new card time, or hopefully warranty for you. If it sometimes going away for awhile, I would try it in another comp if you can. It almost sounds like it could be a PSU problem.

Try downclocking the card if you can. Maybe try GT speeds?

why would it be a PSU problem?

your PSU might not be powerful enough to supply the juice your GT requires.

Like I said, try underclocking the card to check the PSU as a possibility. Usually the problem you described is on a card with a bad GPU and mem. But you also said it sometimes goes away, which if the components were bad it would not go away, it would persist. Downclocking the card might point to another problem other than a bad card.

my first guess was that it was just dust or a cooling prblem but it happened still after dusting it and its not overheating at all. the CPU heat is ok too. I have the thermaltake Silent Purepower PSU and it has a knob to adjust the fan speeds. when its on full its quite loud but id does more sucking in air from the inside and blowing it out. I see no difference when its on high or low.

ok i just downloaded the driver from the Nvidia website and did exactly what the directions said. this time it actually seems pretty good. i havent played a game since i restarted but its looking good so far. i had to re-adjust the resolution so i right clicked my desktop and did it under Properties/Settings. then i noticed an Advanced button so i clicked on that and went to Troubleshoot. There is a bar that gives me 6 options to choose from. mine was on the top and said only have here if its not having any problems. so i scrolled through and loked at the various things but all of them but full make sense and i dont know what to put it on. could you please scroll through yours and give me your choice?

Edit: Ok i did the next one down from full. It still has the same problems but the cursor is invisible unless i move it.

Edit #2 Ok the second one from full. same as before. still invisible cursor ingame

Edit #3 any Choices below Edit #2's wont let me start up the game. O yea and should i Un-check the "Enable write combining" box?
