eVGA 5900SE - Still blurry after RMA!

Dumb questions for ya. What make and model is your monitor? And, have you tried another monitor on this card?

Keys

Hitachi 751. No, but my 4200 in here worked fine just 5 minutes ago, as it did before I RMAd this one. I tried this using the DVI/VGA adapter, and quality is improved tremendously. I don't think its perfect though.

that's strange.. does evga use cheaper components or something (i remember back in the gf2/gf3 days some brands had poor 2d, where other brands were just fine)? i have no issues whatsoever w/ my 5900nu, and i'm accustomed to staring at a radeon 9700p all day.

THe quality with the VGA input it seriously horrible. I've never seen a card so blurry in 2D.

There is definately still variable 2d quality on different brands of cards.

Evga is poor

Leadtek is godly

[/have used/evaluated quite a few different cards - Matrox, ATI, nVidia, 3dfx]

My particular EVGA 5900SE has quite good 2D up to 1600x1200. At 1920x1440 or higher there is blurring, but I am running though a KVM which starts to affect things after 1600x1200.

Monitor is Sony G520.
