isn't it better to just wait out for the price drop on the DX10 ?

It just sems like new video cards are released every 2-3 months.

:Q open box 7600GT? link! newegg warranty FTW

I see no OPEN BOX 7600gt for ANYWHERE near that price...
...not even a 7600gs

I've had too much bad luck with open box/referbed vid cards...

I'd say if you think the 7900GS is enough for your gaming needs ... go with it if you can still get it for $130.

😀 That's why it is cheaper. You can always spend the extra 50-65 bucks and get the 512MB version.

Picked up the XFX model 7950GT with 512mb and man that baby is smoking. Runs Battlefield 2 with all settings maxed out at 1600x1200 res and still does 100fps. The 7950GT is a nice graphics proc. Wouldn't even worry about DirectX 10. Nothing is out that uses it yet.

7900gtx is a superior card 🙂

the gtx is the best single gpu 7 series nvidia card they made.

still, for $200 new this is a smokin deal

I paid $300 for this bad boy in August 🙁
Well, it's nice to know that I can get a second one for a nice price.
EDIT: I thought it was for a 7900GT 😛 Good deal still.

What is gonna be the downside to the 7950gt with only 256 of ram. I can't seem to find any reviews that show the performance diff.

@Xarick: Enemy Territory: Quake Wars would not run as fast since the Doom 3 engine and the texturing technique they are using (Megatextring) is very RAM intensive.
And to prepare for the future.
